In 1965, W.J Towell started its food distribution division in Kuwait. The division took on world-renowned brands, and so became one of the major players in the market. Therefore, the board established a stand-alone company to handle all its food business. As a result, In 1989, Al Bustan Al Khaleeji (BK) was born.

Due to the Gulf War in 1990, the business came to a stop. However, after the liberation, the company came back stronger. BK added new brands to its portfolio, while also building new facilities to become a complete brand solution partner. Unfortunately, in the early 2000’s, BK’s warehouse was completely destroyed by a fire. However, employees came back to rebuild the next day. Above all, many worked without pay. Hence, within months, the business was back to normal operations. As a result of our employee efforts, today BK is one of the most recognized brands in the industry.
